Brian McLeod’s artful piano arrangements of
best-loved hymns and songs of praise offer unique counterpoint to classic
Scripture readings, prayers of the Church, and ancient and modern inspirational
quotes … devotionally presented as a satisfying blend of traditional and
contemporary Christian worship.
Brian comes from a family of musicians.
"Come, Holy Spirit" is his twin brother Barry's song. Brian followed suit
and was a graduate of Shorter College in Rome, Georgia with a BMus degree in
piano performance. He is organist of Sam Jones Memorial
United Methodist Church in Cartersville, Georgia. For the last five years he has offered his music in
healing ministries sponsored by the Order of St. Luke in Georgia and Tennessee.
In addition to his church work Brian also works with local schools and theatre
groups. In his spare time he plays with a jazz band and small jazz combo
in the Cartersville area.
All the music on the first two Soul
Openings recordings is improvisational in nature. His first solo
piano recording, How Far Is It to Bethlehem?, contains improvisations
on well-known Christmas carols.
